The core gameplay loop of Questavern—including party generation, dungeon contracts, daily progression, and local game saves—runs entirely on your device.
- No Account Required: You do not need to register, log in, or provide an email address to play Questavern.
- Local Storage: When playing as a guest or offline, game state, RNG seeds, and tavern management progress are saved strictly on your local device filesystem.
- No Remote Telemetry: We do not secretly transmit your local gameplay actions, run seeds, or in-game outcomes to external servers.
3. Information We Collect (Optional Services Only)
If you choose to create an account to unlock optional online capabilities (such as cloud save backup, cross-device sync between desktop and mobile, or tavern visits), we collect the following:
- Account Identifiers: Your email address and authentication credentials (managed via secure, encrypted authentication services).
- Cloud Save State: Encrypted snapshots of your tavern game progress, current day cycle, unlocked rooms, inventory, and tavern name.
- Technical Logs: Basic server access logs (such as IP address, device operating system, and request timestamps) strictly used for security, error diagnostics, and rate-limiting.
4. How We Use Your Information
Any information collected is used solely to:
- Authenticate your identity across authorized client devices.
- Synchronize and restore your cloud save files.
- Facilitate asynchronous friend tavern visits and guestbook interactions (when enabled).
- Respond to direct customer support or account deletion requests.
5. No Third-Party Advertising or Data Brokering
We do not sell, rent, monetize, or trade your personal data. There are no third-party behavioral advertising SDKs, ad networks, or data brokers embedded within the Questavern game client or marketing website.
6. Third-Party Service Providers
We rely on trusted infrastructure providers to operate optional online features:
- Supabase: Provides secure database hosting, user authentication, and row-level security (RLS) for cloud save synchronization.
- Platform Store Services: Valve (Steam), Apple (App Store), and Google (Google Play) handle game purchases, licensing, and client distribution in accordance with their respective privacy policies.
7. Data Retention & Deletion
Local saves remain on your device until you uninstall the game or delete save data through in-game settings.
For cloud accounts, you may request permanent deletion of your account and all associated cloud save data at any time by contacting us at privacy@questavern.com or using the in-game account management menu. Upon receipt, all stored records are permanently purged within 30 days.
